Over seven decades, 27 different locations, more than 1,400 productions, SLO REP is one of the nation’s longest running nonprofit theatres. It’s time to build a new home for San Luis Obispo’s theatre. It’s time for A NEW STAGE.
Our two new theatres — a 215-seat Mainstage Theatre and 100-seat Black Box — will cement downtown’s historic role as the beating heart of San Luis Obispo’s rich culture and economy.
As a matter of sheer scale, this is the largest arts project since the Performing Arts Center on the Cal Poly campus was built more than 30 years ago. With your help, we will reach our campaign goal and break ground in early 2026.
Good News!
Harold J. Miossi Charitable Trust
Thanks to incredible community support, we matched and exceeded the $500,000 Harold J. Miossi Charitable Trust Challenge Grant three months early! The Miossi Trust has now contributed $1.5 million to our campaign. (For more about this generous grant, please click HERE.)
And now we have more GREAT NEWS!
Hind Foundation Awards $750,000 Grant to SLO REP
San Luis Obispo’s Hind Foundation has donated $750,000 to underwrite the cost of new, state-of-the-art lighting, sound and technical equipment for the new theatres to be built in downtown San Luis Obispo. (For more information about the Hind Foundation and this generous grant, please click HERE to read our press release.)
Let’s Keep the Momentum Going
We have now raised well over $20 million, and we are confident we will raise the final funds needed to break ground by early next year. And you can help!
Name A Seat
If you haven’t yet given, now would be a great time. If you have given, we humbly ask you to consider another donation. In fact, did you know that you can NAME A SEAT in our new theatre? To date, supporters have stepped up to name 155 of the 215 seats that will be available in the new theatre, at $5,000 per seat. We’d love to have a sold out house! Name TWO seats and you will be recognized permanently on our custom-designed donor wall in the new lobby. Find out more about naming a seat HERE.
Thank you for playing a huge role in making this vision of a new theatre in downtown San Luis Obispo a beautiful reality.
