A New Stage

Over seven decades, 27 different locations, more than 1,400 productions, SLO REP is one of the nation’s longest running nonprofit theatres. It’s time to build a new home for San Luis Obispo’s theatre. It’s time for A NEW STAGE.

SLO REP’s new state-of-the-art venue for live performances in downtown SLO will serve as the active anchor and the entryway to the Cultural Arts District.

Our two new theatres — a 215-seat Mainstage Theatre and 100-seat Black Box — will cement downtown’s historic role as the beating heart of  San Luis Obispo’s rich culture and economy.

As a matter of sheer scale, this is the largest arts project since the Performing Arts Center on the Cal Poly campus was built more than 30 years ago.

With your help, we will break ground in early 2026.

Thanks to you, we matched and exceeded the Miossi Challenge!  (For more about this generous challenge grant, please click HERE.)

With your help, we will raise the remaining $1.3 million to meet our goal by the end of this year – 2025. Please consider naming a seat in the new theatre with your donation of $5,000. Name two seats and your name will also appear on our custom-designed donor wall in the lobby.

Thank you for playing a huge role in making this vision of a new theatre in downtown San Luis Obispo a beautiful reality.
