- Donate – Your contribution to our Annual Fund supports vibrant, exciting, professional live theatre on our stage and our standards-based Academy of Theatre educational program at our Empleo Street Headquarters. Ticket sales and tuition cover only 60% of our costs – your donation makes the difference!

- Make a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) from your IRA Tax-Free to SLO REP. If you are 70 1/2 or older, you can make a QCD from your IRA as a donation to SLO REP and save money on taxes! If you are 73 or older, that QCD can count as your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) from your IRA. (*See below for more information.)

*Qualified Charitable Distributions: A Tax-Saving Way to Help SLO REP
A Special Opportunity for Those 70½ Years Old and Older
You can make a difference today and save on taxes. All that and more is possible when you make a donation through your IRA. Give any amount (up to a maximum of $111,000) this year from your IRA directly to a qualified charity such as SLO REP and pay no income taxes on the money.
Gifts of any value, $111,000 or less, are eligible for this benefit and you can feel good knowing that you are making a difference. This popular gift option is commonly called the IRA charitable rollover, but you may also see it referred to as a qualified charitable distribution, or QCD for short.
Why Consider This Gift?
• Your gift will be put to use today, making professional live theatre and theatre education possible in San Luis Obispo. You can see the difference your donation makes.
• If you are required to take minimum distributions, you can use your gift to satisfy all or part of your obligation.
• You pay no income taxes on the gift. The transfer generates neither taxable income nor a tax deduction, so you benefit even if you do not itemize your deductions.
• Since the gift doesn’t count as income, it can reduce your annual income level. This may help lower your Medicare premiums and decrease the amount of Social Security that is subject to tax.
