In Gutenberg! The Musical!, two wildly overconfident writers stage a shoestring backers’ audition for their ridiculous new show about printing press pioneer Johann Gutenberg. Armed with hats, props, zero budget and unshakable enthusiasm, Bud and Doug perform every role in their “historical” hysterical epic, with the hope that a deep-pocketed producer will turn their absurd dream into a Broadway hit.
