About
Molly Sweeney leads a full and productive life as a woman with blindness. But her husband Frank can never leave well enough alone. His insistence that she undergo a risky surgery to restore her sight has powerful and unintended consequences. Inspired by Oliver Sacks’ essay To See and Not See, legendary Irish playwright Brian Friel tells this gentle tale from the shifting perspectives of Molly, Frank, and the surgeon who values his skills above his patients.

About Ubu’s Other Shoe & Staged Readings
In 2004, Michael Siebrass directed a staged reading of Gore Vidal’s thought provoking political satire, The Best Man, at SLO Little Theatre. 20 years and 119 plays later, we are thrilled to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of this challenging, thought-provoking and ground-breaking series of shows called Ubu’s Other Shoe! Our staged reading series is named after the infamous trilogy of plays written by Alred Jarry (Ubu Roi) that were banned from the stage after riots erupted on opening night. This exciting series of shows exists to off er actors, directors and audience members an opportunity to experience incredible plays that do not necessarily fit into our regular mainstage season.
