ACT-ThankYou

Final Weekend for EARNEST and THANK YOU to our Sponsors!

DSC_4429It’s been a  great run but it’s almost time to say goodbye. ACT’s The Importance of Being Earnest will run for just four more shows this Friday through Sunday. If you haven’t seen it yet, better act quickly and get your tickets today!

But before we go, it’s time to shout it from the rooftops again – THANK YOU!  Our Academy of Creative Theatre educational programs provide year-round theatrical training for students ages 5-18 (kindergarten through 12th grade.) ACT’s after-school programs, summer and spring break camps and theatrical production classes inspire young performers and technicians to develop skills which will benefit them throughout their lives, both on and off the stage. And none of it would be possible without the generous support of several generous sponsors.

Central_Coast_Funds_ChildrenIn December, we received a generous $2,000 grant from the Central Coast Funds for Children  in support of our student production of The Importance of Being Earnest. Specifically, the grant underwrites discounted children’s tickets to ALL performances as well as 100 free tickets for children and families being distributed through partnerships with the San Luis Obispo Children’s Museum, the SLO County YMCA and People’s Self-Help Housing.  Thank you CCFC for your continued support of ACT!

MiossiLogoThanks to generous grants of $2,500 each received from the Harold J. Miossi Charitable Trust and the Janssen Youth & Youth Sports Fund held at The Community Foundation San Luis Obispo County, every student with a desire to participate in CommunityFoundationlogotheatre can do so, regardless of their family’s ability to pay tuition. Grants in support of scholarships for our students are an important piece of the puzzle when offering performing arts education programs. We, and our students are incredibly grateful for the scholarship funding we receive.

RabobankWebRabobank has been a generous Program Sponsor of ACT for the past three years and we couldn’t do what we do without them. Thank you Rabobank for your continuing support of educational theatre programs in San Luis Obispo County!

Of course, individual support plays a very important role in maintaining our ACT programs now and into the future. Many thanks to Patricia McNamara for her many years of support as our ACT Season Sponsor; and to Ann Robinson, an ACT Program Sponsor.  Our ACT Show Sponsors for the 2016-2017 Season are Wilda Rosene and Ron and Carol Burkhart (for The Jungle Book KIDS) and Barbara-Jo Osborne (for The Importance of Being Earnest.)

If you have a child or grandchild interested in performing, our ACT Spring After School Classes are open for registration NOW!

AND if you love to laugh and want to see young talent shine onstage, don’t miss The Importance of Being Earnest!  Four more shows and then it’s gone forever. Get your tickets today!

P.S. Mark your calendars now for our ACT Staged Reading on April 28 & 29, 2017. ACT Staged Readings provides a forum for advanced students to take on more challenging works in the intimate atmosphere of reader’s theatre. The cast is small and the budget is minimal, but the benefit to individual student actors is immense! This year’s show will be the hilarious comedy, Beau Jest by James Sherman. This year’s staged reading is sponsored by our friends at Coastal Oral Surgery and Dental Implant Center. Watch our website for more information about this show and much more coming your way this spring. And remember, you too can get into the ACT!
