TuesdaysWithMorrie-Teaser

We’re DARK this weekend but never fear, TUESDAYS WITH MORRIE opens next Friday and there’s so much MORE to come!

This weekend is one of the rarest weekends of the year. Why, you ask?  Because the Little Theatre is DARK. No shows. Nada. Zippo. Zilch.  There are only about seven weekends per year like it. So, enjoy!  Go see the Cow Parade at Madonna Meadows! Check out Beaverstock in Templeton at Castoro Cellars! Go to the beach, go to the movies!  But next weekend, you’re booked. Next weekend our second show of the Season, Tuesdays with Morrie, opens its three-week run and you won’t want to miss this heartwarming drama. Directed by Jody Hovland and featuring the talents of Tom Ammon and Bobby Kendrick, Tuesdays with Morrie tells the beautiful true life story of Mitch Albom, an accomplished journalist driven solely by his career, and Morrie Schwartz, his former college professor. 16 years after graduation, Mitch is reunited with Morrie, and what starts as a simple visit turns into a weekly pilgrimage and a last class in the meaning of life. Tuesdays with Morrie runs September 23-October 9 and you can get your tickets HERE.

Love Letters CollageNext up in our 70th Anniversary Season will be a very special one-weekend only benefit performance of A.R. Gurney’s award-winning Love Letters, featuring professional actors Ron Clark* and Jody Hovland.* Jody and Ron are the founders of the non-profit, professional Riverside Theatre in Iowa City, Iowa, and their more than 40 years of professional experience includes both directing and acting credits at theatres across the country. The couple have appeared together in Love Letters before and offered this performance as a benefit for the Little Theatre on the “gap” weekend between two regular season shows.  Jody also directs Tuesdays with Morrie, and Ron will be directing When the Rain Stops Falling, opening October 28. Love Letters plays for four performances only:  Friday, October. 14 at 7 pm, Saturday, October 15 at 2 and 7 pm and Sunday, October 16 at 2 pm.  You can read more about the show and get your tickets HERE. And I’d recommend you do it today. We’ve been known to sell out around here quite a lot, so don’t delay or you might just miss it!

*Ron Clark and Jody Hovland are proud members of Actors Equity Association.

There’s so much more coming up this fall at the Little Theatre!  Mark your calendars right now for Archy & Mehitabel, featuring the inimitable Gale McNeeley, on November 6 & 7. Then there’s Guys & Dolls AUDITIONS on November 20th and keep watching our website for more information about Adult Classes!  These new classes are designed for local actors who want to “up their game” and will be taught by professionals who know their stuff and can help you get your game ON when it comes to auditions, character development, movement, selling a song and more. More information will be posted soon!

Cropped-70I’m going to head home now to enjoy my dark weekend. Maybe I’ll see you at the Cow Parade?  And don’t worry.  We’ll be back next week with Tuesdays with Morrie and so much more in our 70th Anniversary Season!
