Santaland Opens Friday, A Christmas Story’s a Hit, and Costume Moving Day is Monday!

Late night comedy returns this week when Kevin Harris takes the stage for the third year in a row in THE SANTALAND DIARIES, a hilarious look at the madness — and the heart — of the holiday season! The popular one man show by David Sedaris has become a holiday staple all over the country. Balancing “seasonal cynicism with a dose of just as seasonal warmth” (Denver Post) the story details Sedaris’s real life experiences working as an elf in New York’s Macy’s Santaland in the late 1980’s. Sedaris first read the essay on National Public Radio’s Morning Edition in 1992 and it’s now an annual tradition. The Santaland Diaries runs December 11-19, Fridays and Saturdays at 9:30 pm and this Sunday only at 7 pm.

It’s time! The moment we’ve all been waiting for!  On Monday, December 14th, we’ll be moving the 5,000+ costume inventory from Costume Capers to the NEW San Luis Obispo Little Theatre costume shop and we’re looking for some able-bodied volunteers to give us a hand. We’re renting a huge truck, and we’ll need as many hands on deck as possible to get it all done in one day. Any and all help is greatly appreciated and all volunteers get free ticket vouchers!

We’ll be starting the move at 10 am at Costume Capers (2146 Parker Street,) and we’ll work till we’re finished or till we drop – whatever comes first!  We’d appreciate an RSVP so we can plan our day. You can email Volunteer Coordinator, Lauren Moore or post a reply on our Facebook event page. If you can’t come at 10 am, but can come later in the day, let us know and we’ll let you know where to be.

It’s such an exciting time here at the Little Theatre! We’re in the middle of our most successful season ever and it’s all because of you. Thank you for your support of live, local theatre. Happy Holidays!
